The photo collection on this page wraps up Endymion after dark and begins the next morning on Canal Street Downtown. The storm front that caused Endymion to start early has lingered through the night but did not rain on our parade at all. It looked sketchy much of the morning however light cloud cover makes outdoor photography much easier. I could point the camera in almost any direction and keep the exposure the same.
The Sunday before Fat Tuesday is one of the best days of the Mardi Gras season. All of the tourists are in town and settled down for some fun. The entire day is filled with parades and fun from Uptown to the French Quarter. It's Sunday so most locals have the day off and truck their families to the parade routes, set up bar-b-que grills, ice chests, and home cooked picnic foods in preparation for hours and hours of festivities.

My wife wading through plastic bags...

...every bag will be picked up before morning!

We walk home after the parade...

...past blocks of gridlock traffic.

See you next year at Endymion!

Sunday moring Mardi Gras weekend

The streets are wet...

...but no one's spirits are damp.
