It amuses me that people camp out for two nights to hold real estate for a parade. As soon as the parade starts the NOPD makes you move all of the sofas and other junk so that people like me can walk right up at the last minute and watch the parade. I guess for some folks it's all about the party and not so much about the actual parade.
This once in a lifetime opportunity to photograph most of SuperKrewe Endymion during daylight hours was well worth the tired feet and caffeine pills ingested during 8 hours of looking at a tiny LCD screen on a digital camera.
