Here are some random shots from around the French Quarter Sunday morning just a couple of days before Fat Tuesday. As the day goes on traffic gets worse, trash cans overflow, the sun heats up stagnant water, stale beer, and God knows what else.
When parades are flowing down Canal Street like colorful barges in a sea of humanity, the French Quarter empties out a bit as revelers populate the parade route.
